Our Story
Founded in 2019, the Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus has grown into an 80-plus member ensemble of lower-voiced 2SLGBTQIA+ singers known for sold-out concerts, ECMA-nominated recordings, national festival appearances, and original commissioned work. A four-time Best Community Choir winner in The Coast’s Best of Halifax, HGMC creates high-quality queer choral music while fostering a safe, supportive community and serving as ambassadors for 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility, connection, and joy across Halifax, Nova Scotia, and beyond.
